Commenting on Blogs...

Some people (probably the ones over 20) are unsure how to comment on this blog.  I'm no expert but I think you need to register as a user at www.wordpress.com first.  I guess this slows the spammers down.  Once you register you can comment on anyone's Wordpress blog.

Hahnemühle Fine Art Digital Paper

[gallery] Just a reminder that I am the Tasmanian distributor of Hahnemühle paper. Hahnemühle is unquestionably one of the finest digital fine art printing papers available. It has fantastic archival qualities and is typically mould-made or 100% cotton rag paper with various textures available. In addition I distribute Ilford and Magiclée photo papers and canvas which are also fine products. Ilford produces GALERIE Smooth Gloss, Smooth Pearl and Smooth High Gloss.  These papers incorporate cutting edge porous inkjet design, allowing an ‘Instant’ dry effect in both dye and pigment based printers. A new addition to the Ilford range is an economical 250gsm satin photo paper The Magiclée range includes superb presentation and poster weight papers in gloss, satin or matt. Papers in the Magiclée line include fine art, matte presentation, and fast-drying photobases. Canvas selections range from 100% cotton to poly/cotton canvas blends. All are compatible with the water-based ink and printer systems and most are compatible with longer-lasting pigment ink sets. Magiclée brand media makes it possible to achieve quality results with sheets and rolls, which are available in a variety of sizes. Email me at ian@straydogphotos for more details on papers.

New Studio & Workroom

We are currently doing extensive renovations and building a new studio, office and workroom. This is slowing the workflow down a bit as it is hard to access equipment. Printing on our Epson 9600 is still chugging away but framing and mounting is difficult amidst the building chaos.

From today I will be able to provide true archival adhesive mounting with the delivery of a new Hot Press 60"x40" heated dry mounting press. No more worries about how my 100 year prints will be affected by mounting. More about that when I learn how to use it!
